woah mumma, i was never a barbie kind of gal, always played with cars and trucks, played softball and basketball, rode my bike all through the cane fields, played cricket with my dad, I guess I was raised in a 'you can have anything you want' kinda a way 'you just gotta go out there and grab it'
I am not so certain that Barbie was a gypsy, instead she perhaps demanded that her hair be just right she wore only the best clothing, lets face it her b***s and butt were always in magnificent shape too, I am imagining that once a week she had her nails done 'just the right shade of pink' and she probably expected to have Ken pay for everything ( I wonder what Ken did for employment, the poor bugger) having owned and sold two businesses in hospitality I worked damned hard and never expected anything from anyone, my road was always going to be hard fought, but I wouldn't change the experience for a single moment in time
what's the saying .... you reap what you sow ... d****t gals if you want a decent life, a loving man, to be surrounded by unconditional love then just put it out there, ask the universe ... believe to recieve...
and yes I agree with you Frieda on what Mad Englishman said ... Even though I am the biggest Tomboy I know I would never trade being a woman for anything :)
having said all that ... a very worth rant indeedy .....
perhaps we need some modern day Fairy Tales to reflect the reality in which we all now live ;)

The roll of 'Barbie' has changed mightily over the past few decades. Her role in the scheme of things has been shot to pieces. nursery rhymes and fairy tails were not just for bed time reading. In their time they informed the young through tales of the order of things. From a world where the male was king and females were subordinate. At that time you had know your place in the world. Today it is all gone. women want to be men, men want to women, and some don't know which side of the fence to sit on.
Sorry bit of a rant there. That's what happens when you read poetry like this.
Excellent work.

I never mind a good rant, thanks muchly for your thoughts. Now I get the 'Mad' part ;)

Yeah I been around the block a few times and I guess I've gotten cynical.
