when i had come back,
with his eyes firmly fixed on nothing,
and his voice choking on it's own words,
"what have we become?"

It's often scary to know that we don't know what we've become...maybe we become magical people, or demons. We can become anything, given the right amount of time. Short, but you wrote the world a powerful message. You got my thoughts churning!
