The Mechanist

The Mechanist

A Poem by gameoverman
"

this is a poem I wrote for those who are discouraged by failure.It's ok to be sad when you fail but never let it stop you from trying again.

"
The smell of grease prevaded the air filled with a hammer's ring;
calloused fingers scarred and burned working on some twisted thing .

For lack of sleep, he dosed off to find him self awake; at the of rise of the morning star's wake.

" This time for sure" he said aloud as though beckoning his contraption(for he had no company);
he would disprove the men who sneered and jeered at him and his creation.

Full of fire and vigor he fliped the switch Alas!
His pride,his joy and his work fell apart- in a maelstrom gears and gas.

He grieved briefly and quietly that hammerless greaseless night ;
He tossed the corpse with his bretheren embittered and full of spite .

However when the grief stopped and time resumed he found himself far away ; from the pain and fatigue of work , staring longingly at those burning lights millions of miles away
