Rumors

Rumors

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

it's second hand news by
way of friends and family,
foes and strangers,
dreams and news reports

never go back again
and don't stop

it's best to go your own way

become independent,
free of the bullshit,
fly like the songbird
during the mid-seventies

the chain no longer bind you,
and everything becomes fun,
you make walking fun,
you make running fun,
you make loving fun

I don't want to know if
you scream Oh Mommy
or Oh Daddy in your
spare time or if you
refer to your
significant other as
Gold Dust Woman
or Gold Dust Man

you are a free agent,
a being bound to
no constraints
except natural laws

be weird, be odd,
be the outlier
even if the rumors
are true, false
or otherwise
