Odd Power

rise up to the level

so you can rise higher

because that's the nobility

of human existence and

yet that notion may be odd

because it's odd to see a

person go from nothing

to greatness

and yet if the leading

coefficient is negated,

then the slide from 

greatness into oblivion

is not that odd even

though the slide follows

an odd power function

math be damned, 

say the naysayers

yet the naysayers 

and their complements

are still doomed to 

slide down into the void

like dolls made of goo

because goo and humans

are of no consequence

to the universe as a whole

thus ends today's sermon

lately i've had to linearize several non-linear equations using Taylor series expansions and such, so you and your poem remind me how messy and gooey matters can be, especially as you so eloquently say, human matters
