From And To

From And To

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

from a peanut to writing her name
from a mewl to full-on sentences
from a plastic box to a twin bed
from a hole-in-the-wall to a family home
from five pounds to six times the size
from a small love to a large love
from a pyre to a shrine
from Sesame Street to Finger Family
from four years ago to the age of four
from We Are Young to Work
from immaturity to maturity
from the origin to here

you are the apple that
remains the reddest of all
