Tularemia

Tularemia

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

designed,
this is the universe
of foibles

the comedy of errors,
the literati would call it

is it designed or does it appear so?

the holy books say one thing
and the scientists say another

the atheists claim "god did it" as
an excuse to say all in all caps is
naturalistic for better or worse

the theists claim "god did it" as
the answer to say all in all caps
is mechanical, functional, beautiful

is "god did it" an excuse or an answer?

is investigation by scientific means
completely limitless or completely involved?

does the naturalistic atheist chase rabbits?

does the super-naturalistic theist eat rabbit stew?

do both of them run the risk of being brain-fried
by intellectual tularemia?

seems like the absurd is
staring back at the beings
staring into the void

the void states, declare it an axiom

the beings state, how does that work?

back and forth they converse,

it just does...
how so?...
it's how it is...
I don't know...
how do you not know?...
I just don't...
are you sure?...
yes...
how do you know?...
I just do...
so the answer is...
unknown...
just like that...
just like that...

and the conversation ceases
and the shadows populate the cave wall

they are designed but not in
this universe of foibles,
this comedy of errors

and the beings realize Sisyphus
is pushing the boulder anyway
despite knowing the void itself
is a rabbit hole

just like the cave itself is a rabbit hole,
the void is just an extension of it

and the reader looks up from the piece
all slack-jawed and perplexed

the mind clearly tied into Gordian knots
as it tried to chase the rabbit tails down
the rabbit trails

absurdist tularemia abounds

I do understand this poem.
"the mind clearly tied into Gordian knots
as it tried to chase the rabbit tails down
the rabbit trails"
Most of us are chasing the unknown and don't know why. You awoke the reader with strong statements and true logic. Thank you Kenneth for sharing the excellent poetry.
