Not Here Anymore

Not Here Anymore

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet
"

For anybody who committed the act because others drove them to it

"
He jumped off the Gee-Double-U, needlessly ashamed
Tormenting him, that was the useless duo’s sick game

Pushing him to the brink to satisfy their own devices
And they’ve reignited the debate over the crisis

Across the airwaves, across the nation, across the world
The rage of the underdog has been completely unfurled

The human being should not be debased at all
They are as precious as a beautiful waterfall

And it hurts more when the victim is someone close by
Even though you’re on the periphery, wondering why

Why her?

Why this young lady?

What did she do wrong?

Why are her friends and family left to wonder?

Why has this gaping hole been left?

Been left in the middle of five school districts.

The face on the profile picture is one of happiness and joy
This is a girl that should have found love with a special boy

She should have gone to college and lived the longest life
She should have been free of all the grief and all the strife

But her candle flickered out by the bully-blown wind
Her tormentors are the ones that have truly sinned

And she is now part of the group of lives prematurely lost
And I wonder if her tormentors truly understood the cost

But what does it matter when you’re on the inside seeing red
And what does it matter when you’re on the inside feeling dead

She’s not here anymore and they still are
That’s the deepest cut leaving the deepest scar

Another excellent poem about bullying and the terrible effects it can have.
"And I wonder if her tormentors truly understood the cost"...indeed.

Sometime hard to understand some things. I had two brother killed themselves and left no note or reason. Like you said in the poem.
"She’s not here anymore and they still are
That’s the deepest cut leaving the deepest scar"
They left scar and sadness for many people. I try to be kind for you never know where the limit is for another. Better to be a smile and a hello. A powerful poem with a very sad story.

Bullying is a terrible affair and does cost lives and affects the self esteem of so many. These hurts are carried into adulthood where of course there are still bullies. Well written

another powerful write... yes, sometimes it is unknown why some victims try to end their lives. not many realize just how self degrading bullying can be.

Powerful piece with a powerful message. This is exactly why we can't tolerate this bullying behavior! You're last stanza was definitely the best. Way to finish strong

"that's the deepest cut leaving the deepest scar" indeed - a poignant poem - the candle flickering and blown out by the wind - melancholic at parts - I like how you dip from the rhyme in the middle and then back and also how you kind of let the rhyme flow on as opposed to it dictating the poem itself! well done!
