In Sam We Trust

In Sam We Trust

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

Locked in a box of banner-waving colors

We bite, we fight like disenchanted lovers

Just the general sadness and all-out depression

Seething and griping, the corporate obsession

Think outside the box to get a bigger view

Clear-cut the woods, bite, chomp and chew

Accept handmade cloth from a faraway shore

The little ones work like ants, die on the floor

Something to be said about the fortunate five

Like it matters when there’s no youngsters alive

Creating two brings about a loss of three

Empty store windows, the owners lack the glee

In the consumer’s mind, below cost is best

The merchandise falls apart, it fails the test

The howls to unite crash on deaf ears

All the white collars must crush the fears

Under the watchful gaze of the master

Work for all the greenbacks, only faster

In the exhaust valve comes the heavy thrust

All this occurs for him, In Sam We Trust
