![]() In MemorialA Poem by Kenneth The PoetIn the tenth month some years back Every progressive had a heart attack A luminary, a fighter for all races For all faiths, all creeds, all faces His burning fervor was snuffed out We’re still lingering in fear and doubt
He rose up to upset the status quo hounds Fight and bite he could if given the grounds He was a sharp stone that rolled really well To no corporate master, his soul he did sell The pall was placed in a space arboreal Let the candle be lit forever in memorial
Elderly and poor, he made friends with ease He shook hands and hugged some trees Cracking skulls in the halls of power For the have-nots, he’ll fight every hour Of every days because it’s the right thing The progressives will always praise and sing
He rose up to upset the status quo hounds Fight and bite he could if given the grounds He was a sharp stone that rolled really well To no corporate master, his soul he did sell The pall was placed in a space arboreal Let the candle be lit forever in memorial
The pall was placed in an icy wilderness Four a soul who socked it to villainess A freethinker with a dissenting voice The righteous fight was a matter of choice Maybe it wasn’t a choice, more of a calling Nobody expected to see this bright star falling
He rose up to upset the status quo hounds Fight and bite he could if given the grounds He was a sharp stone that rolled really well To no corporate master, his soul he did sell The pall was placed in a space arboreal Let the candle be lit forever in memorial © 2011 Kenneth The Poet |
