On The Shelf

On The Shelf

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

Ambling far down the trail

The man delivers the daily mail

In his pouch comes the call

The man needs you for the wall

Values clash and worlds collide

With everybody, he can’t confide

All alone only with himself

He wants to expire on the shelf

Listen up, the big guy screams

Real life is not in your dreams

The masses sow, the man will reap

You’ve been picked, so drive the Jeep

Values clash and worlds collide

With everybody, he can’t confide

All alone only with himself

He wants to expire on the shelf

All gone are the best of years

If you live, you’ll shed your tears

If you die, all is left behind

Life is meant to be unkind

Values clash and worlds collide

With everybody, he can’t confide

All alone only with himself

He wants to expire on the shelf

The draw for you was random

We take others, some in tandem

It will occur and it will suck

If you run, you’re out of luck

Values clash and worlds collide

With everybody, he can’t confide

All alone only with himself

He wants to expire on the shelf
