if people read it and
they like it,
then you're a good poet.

Who gives a flying
dog s**t about
legendary status,
you're still good.

And how do you
get good, you may
wonder?

Start scribbling,

let your mind wander,

run with it,

pen it out,

rhyme it,

free-verse it,

matrix-style

or haiku,

you keep at it until you get it,
until you understand it
like your memorizing the
wishbone football offense
or cracking the roots to
a quintic polynomial.

There
is
no
other
way
to
get
good
besides
that
way.
