Good

Good

A Poem by Kenneth The Poet

Good poetry,
how do you write it?

Follow Spillane's advice,
if people read it and
they like it,
then you're a good poet.

Who gives a flying
dog s**t about
legendary status,
you're still good.

And how do you
get good, you may
wonder?

How else?

Practice!

Practice!

Practice!

Start scribbling,

let your mind wander,

run with it,

pen it out,

rhyme it,

free-verse it,

matrix-style

or haiku,

you keep at it until you get it,
until you understand it
like your memorizing the
wishbone football offense
or cracking the roots to
a quintic polynomial.

There
is
no
other
way
to
get
good
besides
that
way.
