Finding You

Finding You

A Poem by Healing Star
"

About going through life and finally, you find yourself.

"

Finding you, on this ledge alone

And there is no where left to roam

You try to turn this way and then try that

And you feel like this is your very last at bat

Finding you, when all seems to have not worked out

And it seems you have nothing left but a bag of doubt

Your loved ones are falling to disease and pain

Seems there is nothing left to do but go insane

Finding you, it seems that shadows are rising from the ground

And they want to swallow your light and break your spirit down

Where are the angels that can come and set this all right

Seems I no longer dream but only cry through the night

Finding you, there must be a reason for these things going on

And I know I should be stronger and look ahead to the dawn

But it seems to be growing inside me this dark enemy

It keeps throwing up more walls, more snares to entrap me

Finding you, I stare at the ceiling and ask for a reason

And I lay in the silence, crying for help, I know I can't run

Where should I look, what should I do, to get myself through

It seems I win some small battles but losing the war, I'm so blue

Finding you, this is what comes to me, it's time to find you

You have been there with you all these years, but never known you

All this is happening to turn you about, to bring you to search for real

To finally do the hard work, to find what you're made of, to finally feel

Finding you, the heart ache is painful but you turned it off the first time you felt

You thought you could live there, in a cool numbness, refusing the hand dealt

But your real heart is to warm, you must return to the living, it's time to begin

Accept what you're shown, it's part of the journey, come find you within

Finding you, that's right you are hearing me now, it starts sinking in

Let it settle within you, the shift from it's all out there, too it is all here within

The shadows are things I've imagined, they're not really there, only a thought

What is, simply is, we move to the next moment, with no snares to be caught

Finding you, it is time to let the ghosts go, walk into the day breathing it in

Trust in the love that has gotten you here, open your heart to live again

Let go of the things you created to make it bearable, that numbness that caused strife

And take hold with all you have to that thing you let go of, your passion for life

Finding you, in the still of the night, at your center, holding on

You search through the memories, asking questions, trusting and drawn

What is this me that I am, and who is this that sees me here, naked and cold

Will I ever accept this me that I see, and allow my true story to finally be told

Finding you, why do I fear letting all to flow from within me, for all to see

Is it the one who sees me that fears, or is it the fragile me that is seen

Why do I struggle trying to control, when I know I must learn to let it all go

It is time to turn the corner, to see me for me and truly begin to grow

Finding you, why is it so hard to face, it is only me, it has been so long

I stop and stare out into space, echoes down, have courage to be strong

The message is to allow me to be me, to let all flow from my center

To really see what it is that is there, and know what it is, as child you enter

Finding you, sitting here in this space with only love within and without

I am brought back from that wasteland, tumbled in a sea of doubt

Looking forward I see new landscapes forming with hope raining down

For I have seen me at my center, with courage I put on my Crown

About
I am a man who has finally realized he needs to write down what matters to him, that I might learn from myself, what is important, what I value. To capture who I am now, for that is all we have is no.. more..
