Thief in the Night

Thief in the Night

A Poem by Ghost

Thief in the Night

This starry night I broke in, quietly like a whisper upon the wind,

Take heed - I know what I am after, as I move in smoothness, in stealth,

You see I'm not a convict, nor a robber, and I'm not your average thief,

I'll slip in while you're soundly dreaming, if your dreams still exist.

You wake up from your slumber in the middle of the night,

Could your imagination be playing tricks, or do you see two dark eyes?

Are you trapped - is there no place to run, is there no-where to hide?

Laying there wondering if you locked the door or if you forgot?

Did you just become my prey? - to this question you have no clue,

I slipped in, cloaked, shrouded in the black cape of darkness,

Gliding in my dance across the floor, tip-toeing as I know the path,

What plans do I have, what am I here for? - only time will tell.

I've come here to steal back every dream, every hope, every moment we once shared,

I will kiss you deeply with lingering kisses that sends your passion to new heights,

Your body will ache, will tingle, as my lips travel to the valley of your treasure,

And your soul will come alive with the memories of ecstasy, as I make my home within you,

I am a thief in the night, I have stolen your heart, stolen your love and I have made you mine....
