Words

Words are an inspiration of feelings that collect in our thoughts,

Expressions that before spoken can pool within our minds,

Talk in a dedication to me and I will forever give you my life,

I have no hidden meaning behind what I say when I say, "I love you"!

Words I should swear by and say with no regrets just pure emotion,

I've been hurt and lived a hard life, but I still know what love means,

I don't have to speak, read, or write when my eyes will never lie,

But should I have to use pen and paper, my words will dance across the page,

Gliding with meaning and beauty - words I gather and offer in happiness.

Words I want to share with you, in the moments when you find yourself lonely,

I want to enchant you with them and share our journey, our fate through them,

Let my words create a lifetime of images and memories we can share together,

And through them, I will bring you comfort and joy, and hope for a chance to hold on.

A chance to share my dreams, my aspirations written in ink all over your spirit,

Tattooed, etched upon your flesh in my blood - feelings left by this humble poet,

As my words become your reminder that I will be - that I am the light in your heart,

Let this be the last time I paint my words, I imprint them with endless meaning upon your soul....

This is really beautiful. I know some of these feelings becuz lots of times I write poems for people I am very fond of, but who aren't in any way a "love" situation in my life. Words are my only true gift these days. You've fleshed out that idea in many creative ways that most writers can relate to.
