Creature Made of Fright

Creature Made of Fright

A Poem by Gilad Levanon
"

The battle of withdrawal.

"
In the deep dark depths of the night
Creeps and crawls a creature made of fright

As you carefully curl up cosy in your bed
Beware the strange thoughts in your head

As the vicious vile voices entice you
You twist and writhe and face your options two

The primary pathway placed in view
Is the choice to relent and allow the relief to ensue

And the second selection is the struggle
To maintain your strength and refuse to buckle

One offers overflowing momentary bliss
The other brings pain and agitation to this

But the first will call the creatures to come back
And the second will make them give up and cease their attack

In the deep dark depths of the night
Creeps and crawls a creature made of fright

Will you acquiesce to its artful assailment?
Or will you rise to the challenge of curtailment?
