In Heaven

Dedicated to someone very important to me who passed away... I miss you very much.

In Heaven

As night fades into dawn,
The pain becomes unbearable.
There, is the star I wish upon,
The crack in my heart, non-repairable.

Your presence still exists here,
I cannot believe the reality.
No response from you is heard to ear,
I grow insane, likewise, my mortality.

I sit here, glancing up, at the sky
Where I keep faith that you are still.
Stinging tears drip down, I cry,
The deadening silence, so desperate to kill.

My emotions still locked up, I can’t express,
A flood of rage, sorrow, displacement, insanity.
Every passing second, my heart clots with distress,
Is my faith and are my actions drowned in vanity?

My hope frequently shatters,
Such a crooked, wretched path it takes.
Only one destination, only one thing matters,
When I see the end of it, my demons will break.

When my eyes flutter closed,
Heart stops beating, no more.
I’ll grab that hand, to me proposed,
Into a new land, of which I can explore.

I’ll finally see the light and content,
It was all worth it and faith will prevail,
In Heaven, will be the end of torment,
In Heaven, will our encounter unveil.
