12.BANANA LADY

12.BANANA LADY

A Poem by pal
"

Sales happen more not coz of the product, but how well u present them. Who knows better, if not Banana lady here.

"

Banana lady

Husband the bread earner

With bananas basket on head

Set out that morning

Towards the market center

Thoughts lingering on

Outstanding debts to be paid

Daughter needs school uniform

Wife needs groceries for kitchen

Sales be better good today

People don’t buy any more!

I am not bad salesman!

Owner of inherited business

Making up his mind firm

Keeping his spirits high

Bids bye kiss to his wife

 Watching her gentle smile

Its sun set, evening

Wife eagerly awaits her hubby

Here he comes, head down

Spirits low, heart broken

She inquires with concern

Heyy what happened!

Is everything fine?

Hope bananas sold well!!

Oh! Bad pretty bad

Don’t know what’s wrong

No body buy banana anymore

It wasn’t so before

Wife consoles him

Don’t you worry

Let me go tomorrow

See what went wrong

The man in him thought

Ah! What she can sell

 Woman never did before

Let me wait he thought

Next day wife sets out

He couldn’t wait her return

Wanted to see his wife

Selling bananas

Near the market finds

A great rush people

One on another

Pushing each other

Hey what u doing!!!

(Wife squatting position revealing)

People watch, you don’t you see!!

Of course I do

Also know all bananas sold

Great job - very inventive poem theme for the contest. Funny, and you paint a vivid picture here.

... this made me chuckle pal -- the principle of using 'monkey attractions' is well used in all forms of advertising here in the west -- millions of dollars are spent buying beautiful women, er, cars and stuff I mean ... well done!

Bit of a shocker, but well written, well thought out and nicely done.

Marketing. You have to have a marketing strategy, a gimmick to sale your wares and she found it.
Well done.

It's quite amusing Pal! though you do shock me a bit (but you need to watch the past/pres part'ls like I said, for English). ... Good verse. Bethlynne

What an intriquing write - something very new...I found the language a bit confusing as they were speaking broken English but that is part of the tale so I stumbled through. She certainly knew what she was doing...nice write. Thanks for sharing.

Quite the story! Seems the wife knew how to market those bananas, right? :) You have a unique style and I enjoyed it. Lydia
