Dreaming of You

Dreaming of You

A Poem by Gracynn

Looking back, my pace quickens

His deep voice booms, assuring suspicions

Lungs freeze, giving my chest restriction

Yes, I know his intentions

He grasps my arm, pulling back

Forced I turn and look into the blacks

Of his eyes, granting my arm no slack

The warmth for others he lacks

Fear grips me to the bare bone

Stripping all respect I had owned

His rough hand gently strokes my collarbone

I fall for this he'd known

This time I feel different

My heart jostles in my chest with torment

Now I do not give any consent

Yank my hand to disconnect

At impulse I run too fast

My feet can not keep up in the haste

So quickly my moment passed

But someone snags me at last

You are there remember?

My knight, the one who stops the tremors

You keep my heart amongst the embers

And warmth calms me forever
