i'll miss the sunset when you're not watching it

i'll miss the sunset when you're not watching it

A Poem by Marrissa cardello

i've gone wild.
i touch your memory
with tender fingers
out of fear of it fading away
crumbling to dust
on my fresh satin sheets

silverskin tainted red
by fists
and kisses
and the blood
from a tongue grazed on broken vinyl

cigarette holes
in my favorite slip
that i still wear
because it reeks of you

cardigans and beer cans
filled with nothing but your despair
i breathe it in
before i lose it all

we are disgusted by each other's blood
yet
we love to watch each other bleed

and i'll lick your wounds
in ignorance of where they came from
just to burn a taste of evil into my mouth
and i'll live forever
but i won't love to live
for what is life without the madness that comes with him?
