Sorrow FishingA Story by groisht
A pillow-shaped man with a grey beard and ponytail wearing a sleeveless khaki jacket and a black fishing hat sitting on a blue fishing tackle box that had a 'Shakespeare' bumper sticker on the back of it was fishing in the lake. Fishing was not allowed in the lake, as several signs around the lake made clear. I had been sent to deal with the man, that was my job. I approached the man and told him he couldn't fish here. He said he wasn't fishing, he said that he had written a poem on a piece of paper, hooked it like bait on his hook, and had cast it into the lake with his fishing rod.
'Anything?' I asked him. 'Nothing,' he said.
