A Poem by Ironbutt
"

Everyone has to start somewhere. Change comes along and , well, folks just need to know what side of the porch to greet you on. So here is my greeting.

"

Seen  me a mile away, I'm sure, dust kicking up from the road.

Strangers just caint sneak up in here, not with country folks.

Dogs seem friendly , they tend to like my leg,

feel like introducing myself, names Ironbutt by the way.

No Sir it aint a medical condition, there is a story behind the name.

Yes I'd take that offer of ice tea, if it is all to you the same.

Been traveling these dirt roads, pretty much all my life.

yes Sir I have younguns, yes a had me a wife...or two or three.

No I aint saying that I couldnt make up my mind, think they just weren't sure about me.

Ok, well I appreciate the drink and the fact the shot gun wasn't used.

I'll be on my way down this road...be geting dark real soon.
