Still

Still

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

There's something you should know
I don't want you to go
And if you change your mind
You'll return home to find

I'm still your little girl
The one you used to twirl
The one who sat on your shoulder
I'm just a little bit older

I still love you with all my heart
I still remember the part
When your smile was my sun
And you were the only one

I'm still your little girl
The one whose hair you used to curl
Who you took on her first carnival ride
The one who used to give you pride

Deep down it's still me
I wish you could see
Just give me some sort of sign
To prove to me you're still mine

Because I'll always be your little girl
So let's give it a whirl
Because you're still my sun
And to you I will run
