![]() RAKTA Poem by Haley Lynn ThomasListen to me closely Listen to the words I say You need to hear this Even if you don’t want to
You’re stepping into A big, brand new world It may not always be kind to you So when it isn’t remember this
Regardless of the names In spite of the hate You just stay the same Don’t let them change you
They’ll knock you down Baby, get back up Through it all I’ll love you And I’ll be there for you
My mom used to say to me "Sweetie, it gets better Even though the pain seems eternal I promise you it will fade" I’d shake my head And through the tears reply “You don’t know how it feels” But you know she was right
This world is ugly, Baby I won’t sugarcoat it I’ll do all I can to prepare you I just need you to trust me
Listen to me closely Listen to the words I say You need to hear this I love you no matter what © 2014 Haley Lynn Thomas |
