A Letter to God

A Letter to God

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

Every night under my covers
Just before I fall asleep
I close my eyes and pray
For a miracle to occur

They say life isn't fair
But I"m not asking for myself
They say You work in mysterious ways
Well I've been waiting all these days

My pleas have fallen on deaf ears
I know You can remedy this
For once I'm not being selfish
I just need You to hear me

I'm running low on time
My faith is faltering
I guess in the grand scheme of things
One voice just doesn't matter

But You're my only hope
My first and last resort
I know You posses the power
You've committed greater acts before

Maybe I don't deserve a favor
But this isn't about me
I'm just praying for a miracle
Before it's too late
