DefinedA Poem by Haley Lynn ThomasI'm not disappointed that you're gone But I'm not quite relieved either I'm not sure I know how to feel
I'm not elated that I'm alone again But I'm not sitting in a corner crying, either Because this time around I'm stronger than that
I feel like I'm defined by you Like you're a stain I can't get clean And all I want is to break free
But as much as I wanted to leave For the longest time I kept coming back Now I know I can't do that
I don't believe in you anymore And you don't believe in me So let's do what we should have a long time ago
I don't want to be defined by you I want to remove the stain And I hope that someday they'll feel the same © 2015 Haley Lynn Thomas |
