The First

The First

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

My attempt at a rhyming poem...

"

I hate the way you made me feel

Now I don’t know what’s real

I have become so insecure

When I see you I’m so unsure

I force myself to keep going back

Even though it makes my heart crack

I want you to see what you lost

The heart you so carelessly tossed

I guess I’m not what you’re looking for

So you showed me to door

You slammed it right in my face

Yet I keep coming back to this place

They say you never forget the first

Now I feel like I am cursed

There is no happily ever after

I so miss the sound of your laughter

What we had was beautiful

Yet even though it was wonderful

You weren’t sad to bring it to an end

Still all my best wishes I send

It's hard to rhyme a poem. I can't do it so I liked the effort you put into this one. Rhyming words and still saying what inspires you is a gift. Keep rhyming please
