My Porch Steps

My Porch Steps

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

This is a poem about a woman who's ex shows up at her house wanting a second chance but she's moved on.

"

You came around here yesterday

I haven't seen you in 10 years

I wonder how you got this address?

What are you doing on my porch steps?

I invited you to my wedding

You chose not to come

Now you show up on my porch steps

With something to say

Your apology's 10 years to late

I have my own family now

It could have been with you

Our children would've been beautiful

You never cared about my feelings

He treats me like I'm his queen

If only you had loved me

All that I have could have been yours
