A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

He spots her from across the room

Can't get up to courage to say 'hi'

She sees him from across the room

Wishes he'd make the first move

They've both been hurt before

They don't want to go there again

So afraid of the inevitable end

They both shrug and walk away

He'll never know that she loves art

Thinks football is so overrated

She'll never know that he loves to paint

Would rather read a book than play sports

He'll never know that she's a poet

Believes Saturdays are for sleeping in

She'll never know he's fiction writer

Who believes in what he writes about

They'll never know they were made for each other

Two souls who were meant to collide

They'll never realize they're perfect for one another

Two pieces of a puzzle who fit together
