One in 6 Billion

One in 6 Billion

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

I hope she knows she's lucky

and thanks God every day for you

It's not every day a boy like you comes around

You're one in six billion

I know that you're taken

But I can't help but want you

I'll lie awake in my bed tonight

Wishing that I could somehow take her place

We always want what we can't have

But I promised myself I wouldn't shed a tear over you

And maybe someday when you're broken

You'll remember me...
