That Feeling

That Feeling

A Poem by Hannah Estar
"

A poem I wrote for my boyfriend because I can't yet give him the world.

"

You know that feeling when you’re on a swing

And first flowers are blooming to tell us it’s spring

And the world seems to whistle a happier tune

Like fairies dancing under a harvest moon

That feeling of wonder at nature’s resilience

When the sky radiates a strange sort of brilliance

That feeling of bliss when the world is just right

Like watching the stars on a warm desert night

Like singing a baby to sleep in your arms

As it clings and cuddles with soft baby charms

Like going sailing with a wind all around

That swirls and caresses in soft whistling sounds

That feeling of warmth in a hot bubble bath

Or a cup of cacao on a bright snowy path

When all your reasoning crumbles to the floor

Because the feeling’s too great for logic to explore

So if you ever wondered why I love you so much

Well, that’s the feeling I feel with the slightest touch.

And when I hear you speak all my worry disappears

I want you to be near me all the rest of my years.
