Lively Weather

Lively Weather

A Poem by Hannahbananas

The rain falls softly upon my windowpane.

The sound is quiet, but impossible to ignore.

I watch the raindrops as they race down the glass.

I can't help but smile at the fact that they're so competitive.

The wind outside has not yet learned to talk quietly.

She whispers to the trees,

Loud enough for me to hear her talking, but quiet enough that I'm unable to understand what she's saying.

I assume her secrets are funny, however, from the way she makes the trees dance.

The sky must be felling blue today, for usually she comes out to visit me.

Today, however, she hides behind the fog.

Pretty sad she must be,

For she cries upon everyone beneath her.

The grass on the other hand,

can hardly hold back his excitement over spring

He peeks through his foe, the snow,

That before long, will no longer set upon him.

The sun was shy this morning and hid behind the fog with her friend sky.

After a while she could no longer hold in her happiness, and began to shine.

It was nice to see her again,

Seeing as though she hasn't come out to play in a while.

While looking out my window,

I realize just how often Mother Nature changes.

I wonder why she does that. Change.

Perhaps so that we never take her beauty for granted.

I like your weather forecasts much better than the weatherperson's....a lovely ode to the season, like the finish too....nicely pen'd. Your pen name cracks me up. :-)
