torn between the two

I don't know what to do

in this shithole we call life

my happiness I've had to sacrifice

not that I care

I’ll put everyone first

dealing with me is rare

feeling you’ve been through worse

helping others

this gift or curse

i’ve become numb

the cuts get deep

i lay in bed

unable to sleep

torn between the two

life or death

i’ll always be here

the question is

for me or you

I know how putting others first feels, and it is good sometimes, but you need to take care of you sometimes too.

It's amazing how much I feel I can relate to you through your poetry and the way you feel. You care so much for others that you put yourself on the back burner and you give and give until nothing is left but an empty shell and in the end you feel like there is nothing left. As much as you want out, you are stuck between should you stay for others, which was why you feel you are there in the first place; or should you stay for yourself to try and find that happy ending. I hope you stay for yourself. You deserve to be happy, and I hope you find something that makes you happy. Sometimes pleasing others and trying to keep everyone happy makes us miserable.
