A Poem by hardeep sabharwal
"

The depression

"
Of blank sorrows, in a little shop,
Can you believe, it is only here,
My wish to exist, went to cease,
Doctor sharma's advice, Dosage of,
Alprex and sensible twenty five,
Now a compatible associate,
And substitute for life,
Little less subsaline eyes bargained,
For a coin which was not too far,
When spit fire tongue told to be shopkeeper,
I smiled with a shindy on the face,
Which was not so habitual of the things it did,
And used the pencil to put prices,
Instead of working on canvas, once
Now made them only papers, for
Rupees Ten per kilogram, little more
Price than I have ever expected of vitality.

Well I can't really say a lot on it, I'm afraid I'm a bit confused. I know there are poems that don't rhyme, I get the feeling there is some pattern or story to it, but there's just something I don't understand I guess. There are also a couple terms I've never even seen (Alprex and shindy) that I assume might be slang. I hate to be a pain, but I might need an explanation to give my thoughts.

I couldn't quite catch the thread of this one. For example, what is "shindy;" who is "Doctor Sharma;" what is "Alprex?" I think it might be a bit colloquial.

Its the time of depression you know, Dr sharma a psychiatrist, alprex are medicine, and shindy means.. read more
The insanity of the sane world were everything has a price and everything needs to be put in a form of quantitative meausure. It is a bad joke really and the thing though Hardeep is that by you presenting it in this form one might think that it only involve those who choose to be in that world when in fact even amongst people who write or paint or make music or any kind of artistic manifestation this tendencie is equally fatal. Those who only love the concrete, the tangible, the "I know whats what" unless it has a form we can't put a price on it.

I wonder how much 500 grams of inspiration go for in the balck market....

Thankyou
