Their Little Girl

Their Little Girl

A Poem by Mir

They were excited to find out,
that a baby was inside.
Growing and growing,
and filling with life.

When she was born,
they smiled down at their little girl.
Whispering their first words,
"You have the power to rule the world."

She grew up,
believing those words true.
She started school,
and didn't know what to do.

She quickly learned,
that the rules were different.
She didn't have the protection,
of her loving and caring parents.

They made fun of her,
and she didn't know why.
All their mean words,
made her go home and cry.

Finally she understood,
they weren't going to quit.
So she decided to change,
to be able to fit in.
