Hearts Deceit

Hearts Deceit

A Poem by Heather Rodwell
"

When one follows the path their heart takes, they can get very lost. I just wrote this now. It has no specific meaning to me whatsoever.

"

The Greatest force
Of unimaginable magnitude
Shoots forth from the depths of beyond.

My heart jumps forward
A few decades through the ages
And I find it beating
The rhythm
Of someone else's drum.

Oh why have you forsaken me,
Dear Heart?
Wherefore have you gone
To disturb the silence
Of our solitudinal love?
Our own secret
Of silence
Now gone.

My disrupted heart
Has led itself astray,
And I can't fathom
A reason
For this treason.

Oh Heart.
Our love is now broken.
Be gone
And never return.

Some nice internal rhymes underpin this speculation about the flight of the heart... Why did you write it? Becaue the thought occured to you! People do often rush off and then wish they had stayed where they were!

This is such a deeply moving, beautifully bittersweet write. I could certainly relate to the words from past experience. Very well written.
