A Single Reason of Many

A Single Reason of Many

A Poem by Marie Anzalone
"

for him

"

Because snow glint

    is also an effective way

       to light a path...

and you

    can see that with me

           when we meander

through our winter garden

       imagining just where

we want summer flowers to grow.

Author's Note

Marie Anzalone
Written while on a couple's retreat this past weekend, learning how to keep falling in love over and over again. The simplest way for me is to keep focusing on the tiny details of seeing. I wrote a short series of poems for my love, starting with the word "because", each examining a tiny detail; some funny, some serious, some poignant. This was the first. Please share it with your love if it will help you.

Happy Valentine's Day 2011

Thoughts of summer flowers this time of year is a wonderful thing. I like the imagery of this poem.
