for her

for her

A Story by braylin smith

i wish i could write you a song to make your day better when i'm not there; because a song is so much better than these words typed into a machine and plastered onto a cold screen. a song can weave into your mind and stay there for days; i want my song to stay in your mind for days the way your words whispered in the darkness of my dorm stay in mine.
i wish i could gather every person in the world and show them how beautiful you are because the beauty that you hold inside and out seems like a selfish thing for me to have all to myself. and maybe if the whole world told you how beautiful you are you would finally believe it.
i wish u would let go with me. just forget about everything that makes you stressed and we could just drive somewhere. anywhere away from here. maybe then you could breath without the conscious thought of "this will end soon and ill have to go home again" because it hurts to hear about you crying and me not being there to help and maybe this way you would never have to cry again.
i wish i could tell you how much i really adore you. how every time i wake up next to you i smile because i got to hold you in my arms through the night. and those goofy looks i give you? that's me being so happy to be with you i couldn't put it in words so i just plastered a stupid look on my face.
i wish that when you have a bad day you look at this and plaster that beautiful smile on your face; laugh that carefree laugh....
and know that i love you.

Oh Braylin, this is truly a very special love letter, you have written, to your distant lover. I find myself, fighting the tears, which have gathered, at the edge of my eyes. I hope, you are able to share with her, in person, the special meaning she has for you. I envy you, and hope, someday, to meet someone, special like your girlfriend. Thank you, for sharing this very inimate part of your life, Braylin.
