You're Still The One

You're Still The One

A Poem by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)

"
"You're Still The One"

~~

You were ready
While I was not
The heart you showed
Endured a lot

You walked away
I had regret
When you returned
I was upset

I felt the same
But it was late
You're with someone
A perfect date

I tried to live
Forgot the past
Let someone new
Entered, at last!

You came again
And you are free
How odd it was
We both did see

You cried for me
We had regret
Perhaps if us
Tears, I won't get

You walked away
With pray'rs for me
A heart will come
To love me free

After some time
Now we are here
My heart is free
To be your dear

We're both so glad
We love and care
You're still the one
Yes, I declare!

i sometimes wonder about one old love, and if she will ever be free...but she is happy and i for her.

another lady and i always had bad timing, one of us always not free, now we both are...and apparently the truth has emerged...because we are doing nothing about it.
all those "if only's " apparently just said but not really meant.

I think there as always that one person found in each of our past that is always just an open question. I haven't seen this particular movie, but I wonder if it is as good as your poem. I thought the timing was perfect, the voice remained constant and it held me till the end. This is the first piece I've read of yours and look forward to reading more. great job!

This is a poem after my heart, Dhaye. Old sweethearts are the very best. I totally identify and relate to this one. Great rhyming and I loved the concluding verse. Appreciated a lot.
