my language is through hands.

my language is through hands.

"

i'm fluent in ASL.

"

i do like my hands.

i have long fingers.

they show signs of toil

they are etched in stone

float really well on keys

my hands do, that is.

they speak a new tongue.

my hands are the gateway there.

they speak to you now.

This is really nice. The connection of your hands to language is lovely and really shines in this poem. "They speak a new tongue" is a very clever play on words since you're relating your hands to another body part that communicates, the tongue. It's really amazing the way humans use their hands to communicate, be it through typing or writing or sign language, the connection really is amazing. Well done!
