Psalm of my heart

poem about how I feel about the LORD

For the unseen may my affections yearn O Lord 

you who casts aside all fear within me,

drawing near as I draw near to you

as a soldier seeks to serve his King

may resolve be like Spartans of old

who if need be to the death do fight

may your courage and Spirit imbue my soul

to stand fast whatever may come

for you are my Lord my God

though art my shield, spear and strength

who calls me by name do your will

spurring my heart to act, to pray, to love

I remember when hope was bleak

many years have I wandered in and out of,

my affections of you but yet you still sought after 

these years exiled in the wilderness of hearts storms

keeping me safe and guarding my heart you held me

threw brokenness and hardships did you comfort

ever pursuing ever tracking me down with your

wonderful everlasting love that melts coldest heart

tempering my heart and soul through the furnace of time

a blacksmith pounding away my imperfections one at a time

forging my heart into tempered steal to prepare me for whats to come

how amazing to me you are O Lord that you lavish me with such greatest gifts

which humbles me beyond recorded reason filling one with sense of awe and wonder

may all that you allow me to be ever praise, ever be thankful, never cease to glorify your name
