My Door

My Door

A Poem by Crowley
"

When love goes awry...

"

Knock on my door in the welcoming morning light, streaming

I'll greet you with pastel kisses, licorice whips and scented chest, all man

Hollandaise sauce and eggs as fluffy as the down comforter, tossed

Rinsing the soap from unreachable places, drying the small of your back

Knock on my door at noon and it will be quick if you like it that way, sweaty

Or a movie while it rains, front to back on the davenport, spoons with sugar

The nap that lends to mythical dreams, old time movie quality, innocent

A cold beer on the patio washes the days labor from a mind sprinkled with doubt

Knock on my door at dinner, answering in a smile and nothing else, sweeping

You wanted tacos and I made them spicy, the bead of sweat on your lip, fiery

Wine in the garden makes your lips purple and your eyes full, forgiving

By the light of the fire you tell me you haven't been as happy in a coons age

Knock on my door after you have thrown it all away in a midnight tryst, enthralling

Taking all of what we were and fashioning an awkward hat that will never look right

That sound on the other side of my door is me sweeping my life from the floor

Wishing that the blood would stop pumping in my ears, I am nothing, in grand fashion

Stop knocking at my door my love....I have nothing for you

I am nothing to you.....I am nothing

Welcome.. my pleasure..
Hearing strains of Bob Dylan, "Go away from my window, go lightly on the ground, I'm not the one you want babe..." This started out so romantic and crashed into a wall at the end. So goes the tale of love sometimes. I enjoyed the read.

Thanks Fabian...sometimes writing about love ends in tragedy whether you planned it or not..lol.
What? Wait. I was going along, skipping to the romantic edge, then suddenly! Say it aint so!!!
