Citadel of Doom

Citadel of Doom

A Poem by Plagued Monumentally
"

Name doesn't have anything to do with the poem, fyi. :P It just sounded cool.

"
He exemplified bravery,
she exemplified pulchritude.

She was a neophyte in a world of chaos and despair with bereft of happiness.
He had a tendency to be absurd and baneful, with the anguish tears he cried.
She feels like an fiend in a horror movie with him,
he feels like a fiend in a horror movie without her.
Denigrate judgments invade her mind,
while abstruse thoughts invade his.
Her feelings of emotional inadequacy,
make his mercurial temperament angry.

She can't live with him,
and he sure as hell can't live without her.

This is like a poem made for The Joker and Harley Quinn's relationship. It describes it perfectly. I was taken to an Arkham Asylum type scene when reading this, and I absolutely loved that your poetry was able to take me there. Your word choice was truly great 'neophyte', 'fiend', 'bereft'. Really the only criticism I have is that it reads too much like full sentences rather than lines in a poem. But no, really, this was so tantalizing and dark and brilliant.

I can live without you but
Without you I'll be miserable at best

I dunno, it just kind of reminded me of the song. "Miserable at Best" by Mayday Parade. Great work, I love teh font changes. Brilliant!

Love the pic for this number 1 and poetry itself was wonderful with the power and the truth of the words themselves as they describe the dark relationship that can't allow one or the other to be alone for if so the nightmares may begin. I enjoy the way you wrote this the beginning and end saying those sentences for such a short interesting piece. Anyways well done with this poem and keep up the excellent work while letting your creative grow in words.

Interesting concept. I really enjoyed the ending. This tells a complete story, but leaves the reader curious about the next part of the story. Great job.

To me the relationship there is full of tiffs but isn't exactly abusive. It reminds me of people who make a big deal out of nothing and have to make everything into some sort of macrocosm.

The sad love story filled with angst. I love how this tells the story of most men when they care about someone. Most people believe that it's the women who can't move on, but it's actually men. Excellent choice of words and a fantastic story line.
