The World Today

The World Today

A Poem by Tony Hwilka

Roads

once trraveled

far and near

by people

in bus, truck and car.

Now lay near idle

       Alas

all because there is

       NO GAS

I like the sense of humor here. The way it has a mock serious tone that sets the reader up for the surprise ending.
