For the Children

For the Children

A Poem by Tony Hwilka
"

Written for Tovli's 10 word contest

"

A vase of white roses and yellow daisies

Breathing life -- drinking water -- later

Lay withered like the dead in a coffin

Looking at their remains

Project to me the meaning of our love

Your act of loving me, an illusion

Two people married happily forever

To survive, must live outside the box

In the land of poetry I've been very luckly. I have had my own poetry show on radio station WTTM Trenton N.J. reading my poetry from 1982 -- 1990. Was president of the Southern Poets of N.J. and still.. more..
