Farewell Cassanda

Farewell Cassanda

A Poem by Tony Hwilka

There're places I've never been

That I'd really like to see

and people that I've never met

That means a lot to me

Their stories that I'd like to tell

and songs I'd sing

Of Capetown in the winter time

and Bordeaux in the spring

Of Boston in the summer

and Rangoon in the fall

All the places in between

With names I won't recall

Thank you for the special years

When the good out weighed the bad

But I long for the loves I've never known

and homes I've never had

I need you and I always will

But my dreams won't let me rest

Cause the places that I've never been

Are the pleaces I like best?
