...some of the rich are one "hurricane Sandy" away from being an equal to the lower class." No food..no wine..no shelter. Let us give thanks.
((((((((STUFFED))))))))
Sitting next to the babe of sister Jane, is a stomach, renting an apartment for two. Uncle Bob and Brother Ted, are there visiting from Kalamazoo. And there's Grandma Edith, who curses mostly in Swedish. So much food and wine, one ought to be squeamish. Plates overloaded with turkey and butter rolls. Whole-made stuffing, and green bean casserole. Napkins everywhere. Wiping up the warm cranberry sauce. All the while sits pretty Jill, who
quietly applies her pink lip gloss. All of them.... Forgetting to say grace... Forgetting to thank the Lord for their health, and warm fireplace.
FILL THEIR CUPS FULL OF WINE. LET THEM LAUGH AND LET THEM DINE. THEY WILL BLOAT, AND THEY WILL GLOAT. SOME DAY...
THEY'LL RUN OUT OF FOOD. LICKING THE CRUMBS OFF, THE
SOLE OF THEIR SHOES. TO STAY ALIVE...
THEY WILL EAT THE CAT THAT SWALLOWED THE RAT. ENOUGH CHOLESTEROL TO GIVE THEM ALL; A
There shall always be those who are never thankful for what they have and never see the suffering of others...
Amazes me how "poor" to some people is not affording a bottle of champagne and to others is literally is not eating...there is no balance and plenty of wealth in this world to share, sickens me!
Poignant darlin, well voiced and damn well needed ♥
Ha ha, the obvious gluttonous side of holiday rituals. Reminds me of a George Carlin rant re the obesity everywhere observable. Eating the cat that swallowed the rat, yum -- not! ;-) Curious, your predilection for satiric eating riffs: the crocodile eating the grrrl, the devouring going on in Damned, etc. What's next, The Ferking Blob that Ate Iowa? Put 'em all together in a book called Devouronomy, or some such. MUNCH!

It was suggested that I write one titled "The Rich B***h Bites"....feeling inspired. ha ha ha
chuckling here... Karma is a word the poor created and defined to feel better about "having not". And IF a previous "rich" gets taken THAT far down then they can use it too - serves em right for being stupid. But truly - how many REALLY that rich go down that far? As for the rest of the "middle(?) class - most are a paycheck away from no class ...and the first pilgrims killed the indians that fed them - and it wasn't with kindness.
Few - even of the poor - are aware of the goodness of their bounty-isness ...they are too busy surviving their poverty. "...And lunch is free if you buy the beer!"

very clever and very cute. i have only one problem with it, you forgot the mashed potatoes with gravy!! but seriously though...i enjoyed this very much, right down to the sanctions laid down for moral and religious implications. don't let the merther ferckers get ya down!
~ oh...this is an issue that's very close to my heart... in my nation, one third of the people live below the poverty line... ~ counting on the conscience of society is something that we mustn't do... because those who have more than enough food will not part with the surplus... menus will only become more and more plush... ~ i think you did a brilliant job of capturing this scene that unravels very vividly... ~ i like the profundity behind reducing the font size to actually highlight the importance of expressing gratitude... ~ and i liked the end... people do pay for their actions... the cynics like to think that greed has no consequences... but everyone doesn't get away... those "ferking" heart-attacks do happen...

You spelled ' ferking ' wrongly, its ' farking,' but for someone to be able to bring their poetic impulse and strong sense of privacy back to the family, that's an achievement of note. Well done.
a lesson that hides in a comedic words of poetry...
it's like...
"it's easy to indulge but hard to stop"
lesson that says tik tik tok... then it's too late...
Great write!!!!

A great look into the dysfunction of a family full of greedy people... it seems that way a lot these days... material things are more important than loved ones.
