Fly TRAP!

Fly TRAP!

A Poem by Muse
"

My garden would be beautiful, but not complete, not without something a little out of order...like a venus fly trap, the carrion flower, some opium.

"

I think your Alice forgot to tell you about me.
This garden of hers is not what it appears to be.
Surrounded by roses and the sweet humming bees.
My stems perk and tickle because I know you see me.

Thirsty; I open my buds to receive the fresh rain.
Hungry; you prick a ring finger and flinch in brief pain.
I feed....you smile, in knowing I can never be tamed.
Your lips whisper out, "Grow, and take these flies for fresh game."

All this affection, I thought Alice would be jealous.
Attentive with a love that seemed secret and zealous.

Keeping me safe, guarding me with a golden trellis.
I am your Venus fly trap, hungry, bold and luscious.

A pearl in an oyster is not there by mistake. It may wonder about its creation as an irritation or it can see itself for the beauty of symmetry and the inspiration it creates in the eye of the beholder.

The fly trap doesn't put out a signboard about danger ahead. But of course if it gets self conscious ... . Tantalizing!

Oh I love the words and the visual extravaganza that you have created. Danger lurks in even the most bucolic of settings and you have captured that with your sharp edged images. This is fabulously enchanting.

Extremely sensual, I felt the words running along my skin as I read them. In love with this.

Ever the predator in your musings dear... ;)
Ioved the poem. The Venus Fly Trap has always been a plant that held my intrest. The world is full of natural wonders and lesson.
I loved the line, "Hungry: you prick a ring finger and flinch in brief pain."
The trap is what the fly wants and may even think it needs to survive... The death is slow and as elusive and the promised pleasure that was never going to be.
Your poetry is beyond evaluation and I must appreciate the artistry of your mind. My head is nodding your work well done.

you little worker bee

while you flaunt your words
and receive your accolades
I shudder
for to see men like me so well
naked and alone
drinking the poison
surrendering to death
I smile faintly
whispering with my lasy breath
Take me
Take me

yet I die alone

laid at for all to see
your wicked laugh
its reverie
lead me place from which
I can never return

inspired to write this
