Does he see her
the girl in RED
with a pretty head
not yet an adult
but already guilty
it's because she's a Jew
made ragged and filthy.
Can he save her
 no he cannot
your war she fights alone
uncertainty bestowed
innocent and forgotten
roaming around
her dinner now rotten.
Will he help her
perhaps so
with a one way ticket
her destiny awaits
a chamber of false hope
a showered genocide
made with hydrogen cyanide.
Can he feel her
cold soft baby skin
she's not hurting now
made forever young
poisoned little lungs
in this world
her life went unsung........

Oh this is perhaps the most painful part of that entire film. And he never even knew she was. Saddest part of all. This speaks to the innocence of so many lost to cruel tormentors. Evil which destroys beauty in the name of... I cannot even fathom the what. Powerful piece. And so harshly yet beautifully described. They all deserve this kind of tender remembrance.

This one carried a price tag... I read the book, saw and own a copy of the movie... and have seen and lived beyond hold your stomach AND your breath moments. Bringing one life and death into focus was a dramatic license... and a necessity to empower us to willfully touch our souls. Millions we can't focus the concept or reality - millions of ONE-at-a-time brings the reality and horror and pure shame of inhumanity into view.

THis was a hurt-full work hon...
Thank you,
Chris

if i learned anything from history is that it has an ugly side, the atrocities contributed to history is stark and unnerving...the price innocence pays is great.

A sad poem. The worst part it is true. I saw the death camps in Poland and Germany. Still felt the pain and feel the death 30 years after. Worst part of all. This is happening in many parts of the world. The race in-charge is killing million in Africa and hidden part of this world for sake of religion and hate. Thank you for the excellent poem.

Mass murder, the ultimate punchline to our delusions of grandeur.

Very challenging, heart-wrenching piece.

Powerful words and descriptions of a horror that shall forever be a warning, a question mark, an exclamation point regarding the inhumanity of humankind. Cities and towns, villages, neighborhoods...all individual lives with promise, yet the innocence of youth presents the definition of holocaust.
Time well spent on a subject seldom noticed anymore. May we never forget that it actually happened, thus recognizing the incredible possibility of it happening again.

Unreal....in its reality.
