Monster from within

Monster from within

A Poem by Vertigoingnowhere

Intoxicated with memories and pain

The hurt is still there, trapped on the inside like a stain

The cuts scratches and scars remain bloody and unstitched

watch how the juicy red liquid trickles down and drips

The emotions seem invisible to the silent face

So full of lies and hatred, is apparently not the case

to be left alone and thrown away is such a burden to bear

All i wanted was to be shown a little care

A little amount of effort would do the trick

but now just being around you, makes me sick

The voice i hear that hums those happy songs you sing

Might as well belong to a black widow spider, you suck the life out of everything

Everyone is deceived by what looks like a person so shy and mild

but no one sees what i have known,

that once so loving and simple child,

has been eaten away by the monster she has become

some one who thrives  on getting what she wants and not caring on who is stung

I don’t understand where her mind has been

how can someone once so loving turn awful from within

i guess i will never understand why she has turned into this being

But i will always know what she truly is and one day someone else will be doing the freeing

There is some really good imagery here. The emotional turmoil really stands out. You missed a word "... looks like person so shy and mild" Should be an a after like.
I loved the line about the spider, very surreal; actually that whole stanza is quite surreal in it's self.

Good write, thanks for the share.

I like that image ^ good write. That hurt is something we all can relate to when someone we love has somehow turned into a monster. Tough feelings breed poems like these.

So deep and emotionally descriptive... It totally captures the cutter's struggle and the enticing feeling of relief brought by the blade. I'm loving the imagery. Bravo!

I like the notion of the inner stain, one that can't be seen, but which is nevertheless there. The progressive revelation of how a positive nature has shifted to the dark side is strong. Is this how life is, disillusioning, disappointing? Often, yes. But we learn and that learning is clear as the poem progresses.

Its amazing how that happens to some people.... It causes a lot of pain and hurt and that has been well expressed in this poem. Good job.

Great structure. You can tell that you really thought through the structure of this poem, which adds to the emotions that you're conveying. I like the simple rhyme scheme used, because it's effective, but not childish. A very good write.
